Taylor Swift approaches her 30th birthday inDecember.
She was named one of Time's 100 most influentialpeople in the world this year and has reigned in popmusic the entire last decade. But she's a womannow of a certain age, and that means – even in 2019, apparently – people must know if she's goingto have children and settle down.
A German interviewer asked her during her promotional tour for "ME!" if, according totranslations, she was at a "kind of turning point in your life? Would you like to be a mothersomeday, have children?"
Swift found the question sexist. Accurate.
"I really do not think men are asked that question when they turn 30," she told the Germanmedia outlet Deutsche Presse-Agentur. "So I’m not going to answer that now."
The singer, who has been dating actor Joe Alwyn for two years, did summarize what her 20swere like and what she believes the future may hold.
"We are in our 20s looking to gain experience, try things out, fail, make mistakes," she toldDPA.
"I definitely plan to try and fail (at) things in my 30s as well. But I expect that in our 30s, wefeel a little better of who we are. The closer I get to it, the more I feel it happens."
